The Northern Adirondack Housing Development Fund Corporation operates a collection of affordable housing program, consisting of 62 rental units dispersed between 7 developments, and aims to assist individuals and families by stabilizing immediate housing needs while facilitating access to a range of resources for permanent housing solutions.

Northern Adirondack offers long-term, quality, affordable, rental units to individuals and families in locations throughout Franklin and Northern Essex Counties.
  • Countryside – Malone: 12 units consisting of two- and three-bedroom apartments, including accessible units. Each unit has a full basement.
  • Elm Street – Malone: 3 units consisting of one- and three-bedroom apartments.
  • L’Esperance Housing – Malone: 16 units consisting of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, including accessible units. All units have a full basement. All residents have access to a shared community room and onsite case management staff.
  • L’Esperance Housing – Tupper Lake: 8 units consisting of one-, two-and three-bedroom apartments. All residents have access to a shared community room and onsite case management staff.
  • Malone: 4 units, all one-bedroom, located in a quiet part of the village.
  • West Valley I & II – Lake Placid: 23 units consisting of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments located on Copper Way in the Village of Lake Placid. All residents have access to a shared community room and onsite case management staff.

Tenants must meet income and other criteria to quality for housing at a Northern Adirondack Housing Development property. Rental amounts in all units are based on income, and individuals are encouraged to apply for Section 8 HVC assistance.
